Midwife
We assist familes with home birth and offer water labor and waterbirth. We offer skilled midwifery services for pregnancy care, birth, post-partum care and annual exams with PAP smears through our certified nurse-midwife.
Delphine has been assisting women in pregnancy and birth since 1980. She has been a CNM since 2000, is licensed in Ohio and West Virginia and has delivered between 750 and 1000 babies (truly stopped counting) at home, birth center and hospital settings. She gave birth to her own 3 children at home on the Farm in Summertown, TN and has caught 5 of her 8 grandchildren.

Lauren Genter is a self-educated direct entry midwife apprentice and is working on CPM certification. She is the senior apprentice in the practice. Lauren is a mother of 3 children, all born at home. She is an herbal medicine-maker and the owner of Ancient Roots Herbs.

Holly Poulson is a graduate of the first class of Sacred Mountain Midwifery School and is currently working with us as a birth assistant. She is the mother of four children, two born in hospital and 2 born at home. She is a Bradley instructor in the Marietta, Ohio area and has been a doula for many years. Holly is also a founding member of the Mamaology (see links page) group in the Marietta/Parkersburg area.

Chelsea Monday is a midwife apprentice and is working toward her CPM certification. She is a graduate of class 2 from Sacred Mountain Midwifery School in WV. Chelsea is the mother of two children, the second a wonderful HBAC (home birth after cesarean) in October 2011. She is currently taking time out from her apprenticeship.

BIRTHWORKS
Classes are offered in Athens, Ohio by certified childbirth educator Molly Wales. BirthWorks classes are based on the belief that every woman is born with the knowledge of how to give birth, and that a woman will labor best where she feels the safest and most secure, where she is given privacy and room to respond to her instincts. The classes are for any woman with any birthing history, and help women gain confidence in their ability to birth, while birth companions become aware of ways they can make labor safer and more comfortable. Melinda Doyle is our expert in billing insurance companies and medicaid for midwifery services. She does our pre-authorizations, billing insurance companies, has excellent phone skills and does very high quality work.
